Investing in China

Is investing in China still a sound decision?

China is giving every indication that it shall be the worlds next economic superpower.

Its gross domestic product (GDP) is growing around 10% annually, as compared to 3% for the USA.

Its gross domestic product (GDP) is growing around 10% annually, as compared to 3% for the USA.

China's middle class, estimated somewhere between 150 million to 200 million is expected to double in the next 10 years.

Individuals have been rewarded handsomely by investing in China. Average mutual fund returns for the past 3 years have been 17%, far better than the 5% average yield from the S&P 500.

Most investors have heard the stories of certain Chinese stocks that have turned $5,000 into $500,000. It is true. Like the Dot Com boom of the 1990's, certain Chinese stocks have made investors wealthy overnight.

Is it too late to get on board?

On November 15th of this past year, the Chinese Government issued a report stating that a US recession could be very harmful to their manufacturing sector.

A good example of how countries of the world have become economically dependent upon each other. Still, optimism is high, as China anxiously awaits the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Investing in China is enticing to say the least.

However, profiting from the growth is not as simple as it may appear. Obtaining accurate information on stocks can prove to be a daunting task. Many analyst do not cover certain securities and their financial reports may be less than correct.

I could research chinese stocks and make specific recommendations, but I am very suspicious about the information made available.

Mutual Funds and ETF's are the safest investment vehicles to purchase in pursuit of healthy and safe returns.
